03/09/2013 - Training Module on Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation is now available

The training module is intended to provide practitioners working in the areas of disaster risk management and climate change with a better understanding of the practice of DRR and CCA. The training materials which will be made available on the E-learning platform of the United Nations University- Institute for Environment and Human Security by the end of September: UNU-EHS online learning platform for Knowledge Exchange. 03/09/2013 - New paper on "Climate risks as change factor in agricultural education"

Adaptation depends on co-operation among farmers, which at the same time is based on shared information and ideas. This is shown in several cases in different regions of the world as described in this article by Timmerman et al. The article, among others, shows the higher influence that groups can have on authorities, especially when compared to individual efforts. While community action is more effective, the interaction between communities is also helping certain practices to spread more easily, as was done in the Catalyst project. more...
